Modernism Week is proud to present a special event featuring two iconic women of Palm Springs fashion and style, Trina Turk and Nelda Linsk. The ladies will sit down together for the first time in a lively and entertaining conversation with focus on Palm Springs Fashion. The aura of the city has long played a significant role in fashion with world renowned designers, Emilio Pucci, Bill Blass, Helen Rose and Louis Vuitton choosing Palm Springs to debut new collections. In keeping with that tradition Trina will offer an exclusive sneak-peek of her Spring 2024 collection.

Nelda will share amusing stories of hosting Emilio Pucci Fashion shows at her home in the 1960’s, the Edgar J. Kaufmann Residence, Richard Neutra, 1946 with Emilio himself ‘in controlo’. Nelda’s friendship with photographer Slim Aarons will be explored and photos prominently featuring notable Palm Springs’ luminaries: including industrial designer Raymond Loewy, interior designer Steve Chase, actress Lita Baron, and model Helen Dzo Dzo will be discussed.

Trina will reflect on the visionary decision to open her first retail store in the once lackluster Uptown Palm Springs area in 2002, that today is the fashionable cornerstone of the revitalized Uptown Design District. Trina Turk, along with her late husband Jonathan Skow, founded the fashion label Trina Turk in 1995. Attendees of the event will gain insight into Trina's evolving lifestyle brand incorporating optimism, dynamic color and dazzling signature prints which celebrate California and all things Palm Springs.

Moderated by Annalisa Capurro, also known as Ms. Modernism, this event is certain to entertain and delight the audience.
