View the extraordinary St. Theresa School Modernism Projects on display in the school's gymnasium. This year the sixth-grade class will exhibit scale models of homes and buildings designed by Albert Frey in a tribute to Palm Springs Art Museum's exhibition, Albert Frey: Inventive Modernist, on display at the Museum's Architecture and Design Center (January 13- June 3, 2024). Alongside the models see thoughtful paintings depicting Albert Frey's designs created by the seventh-grade class.
Visitors will have an opportunity to see St. Theresa school and church, a part of which was designed by midcentury architect, William Cody.
St. Theresa School Modernism Projects are made possible by a partnership with Palm Springs Modern Committee's Education Committee which conducts in-class instruction and workshops. Brad Dunning, curator of the Museum's Albert Frey exhibition, has generously provided special instruction focused on the architect's important body of work, primarily in Palm Springs. To assist the students, PS ModCom donates educational tools on the topic of modernism including books, maps and a Palm Springs Modern Architecture mobile application.
