Join world-renowned artist Josh Agle (Shag) and friends for this swank and Shag-tastic house party celebrating Modernism Week. We’ll be opening the doors to reveal how The Artist Shag has rescued this tired-but-loved midcentury pool home–reimagining it so that you will feel as though you have climbed into a Life-Sized Shag Painting.
Shag has totally transformed this classic Palm Springs home originally designed by starchitects Palmer & Krisel for the Alexander Construction Company circa 1958. The entire property has been re-envisioned by SHAG to create an immersive, Shag-ified party house that will be the talk of the town! All of the design decisions, from colors and textures to light fixtures and furnishings–right down to the door knobs and drawer pulls–are all Shag.
The artist and his friends will be your hosts while you mix and mingle with modernists from around the globe. Enjoy Mid Mod-inspired hors d'oeuvres and groovy cocktails as you discover each room in the house. It will be like exploring the interior of a Shag painting in real life. You will feel like you've stepped into a time warp and are living in the colorful backdrop of one of his serigraphs. The custom, Shag-designed interior and exterior decor reflects the ultimate throwback to the vintage Palm Springs lifestyle while giving a glimpse to how we will live tomorrow.
Dress in your Mid Mod Best. Lampshades and Shriner Caps absolutely encouraged!
