“Tiptoe Tee”: The Royal Hawaiian Estates Neighborhood Home Tour

The historic Royal Hawaiian Estates invites you to visit their community as we continue our ongoing efforts to restore this amazing property to its original 1961 concept! With a recent structural beam restoration and exterior paint in the original color scheme, this iconic Donald Wexler/Richard Harrison designed desert-tropical community is keen to offer a warm “Mahalo!”

Including 40 units in 12 buildings originally built for the local Jewish community, the Royal Hawaiian Estates is Palm Springs’ first historic residential district as honored by the Palm Springs City Council in 2010. Known for its kitschy, tiki-inspired Polynesian architecture, we invite you to a relaxing self-guided tour of this community, featuring iconic “tiki apexes,” “flying sevens,” roofline “teeth,” and “ladder extensions.” While touring the interiors of at least ten (10) featured homes (with three to five homes not shown on the 2023 tour), take time to relax on the pool deck and “tiptoe” to our Pop-Up Shop and find a cool Royal Hawaiian “tee”! While there, receive an exclusive Royal Hawaiian gift created by one of our community residents, SHAG!

Following our neighborhood home tours, you’re invited to enjoy a separately ticketed, late afternoon cocktail party featuring Polynesian-inspired beverages, light snacks, and live music!
