PSJazzFest at Modernism Week is off to an extraordinary start as two legendary performers, Herb Alpert and Lani Hall, take the stage to deliver a truly memorable experience.

In their performance, Herb, Lani, and their stellar band will treat the audience to an eclectic mix of American standards, Brazilian jazz, Beatles classics, and beloved songs from Tijuana Brass and Brazil '66. The show will feature a giant video screen showcasing hundreds of classic photos, videos, and memorabilia from Herb and Lani's illustrious music careers that have shaped the last half-century of American music.

Herb Alpert, a towering figure in American music, achieved fame with his Tijuana Brass and became an icon with songs like "A Taste of Honey," "Tangerine," and "Love Potion #9." His wife, Lani Hall, is a Grammy-winning vocalist and former lead singer of Brazil 66 with Sergio Mendes. Together, they have created timeless recordings, including "Mas Que Nada," Fool On The Hill, and "Going Out Of My Head."

Herb Alpert's extraordinary musicianship has earned him 5 #1 hits, 9 Grammy Awards, and he has sold over 72 million records. With 15 Gold albums and 14 Platinum albums, he is one of the most successful artists in music history. Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass achieved the rare feat of having 4 albums in the Top 10 simultaneously–unmatched until last spring when Taylor Swift achieved the same. Alpert is also the only artist to have a #1 instrumental and a #1 vocal single.

Alpert, with partner Jerry Moss, founded A&M Records and guided it from a Hollywood garage operation into one of the most successful independent record labels in music history. Their recording stars includes Janet Jackson, Quincy Jones, Sergio Mendes & Brasil ’66, Stan Getz, Cat Stevens, Supertramp, The Carpenters, Carole King, Sheryl Crow, Peter Frampton, The Police and scores of others that are evidence of the consistent quality and diversity of the A&M Records family. Aside from his music career, Herb Alpert is also an accomplished sculptor and painter, with his lyrical sculptures and his massive, bronze Totem sculptures displayed in public spaces and museums across the country.

This opening performance by Herb Alpert and Lani Hall promises an unforgettable night of music, artistry, and timeless classics. Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to witness two living legends come together on stage for an evening that will be cherished by jazz enthusiasts and music lovers alike.
