Please join us for cocktails and conversation with Nelda Linsk (Palm Springs icon and the beautiful subject of Slim Aarons’ “Poolside Gossip” photograph) and Shawn Waldron (Curator, Print Sales and Exhibitions for Getty Images). Nelda and Shawn will discuss Slim Aarons, Palm Springs history and more as they reflect on an era of glamour and Southern California style.
Nelda Linsk was a longtime friend of Slim Aarons and owner of the Richard Neutra designed Kaufmann House. In addition to her work as a real estate agent and philanthropist, she is most often recognized for being the yellow beauty in the iconic “Poolside Gossip” photo, captured by Slim Aarons in Palm Springs in 1970.
Shawn Waldron is an archivist and curator specializing in photography. Based in New York City, he oversees the Slim Aarons Archive and is curator of print sales and exhibitions at Getty Images. His newest book, Slim Aarons: The Essential Collection is the most comprehensive collection of Slim Aarons photography ever released, featuring more than 100 previously unpublished images.
