Details

Tour our secluded gem of the desert–the neighborhood of Tahquitz Creek Golf, where midcentury style, home life and open space become one. With unobstructed mountain and golf course views in every direction, see why one of the earliest residential golf communities in Palm Springs treasures its surroundings, integrated with the classic, championship Tahquitz Creek Golf-Legend course.

The original homes of “Fairway Estates” were built by Westview Development Corporation. Westview turned to architect William M. Bray to design the 350 homes bordering the fairways of the golf course, a hotel, and a shopping center. Fairway Estates homes were advertised as custom homes offering gracious Palm Springs living at its finest, with each model playfully named: Fairway, Golfer, Bogey III, Putter, Vacationer, and Chipper.

In 1964, the Alexander Construction Company subdivided a portion of the golf course to create 55 parcels, naming it “Green Fairway Estates.” Renowned architect, Donald A. Wexler, designed the three and four bedroom homes, offering 9 distinct exterior designs to select from, each providing a unique concept based on desert and golf course living. Green Fairway Estates was advertised as “more than just a place to live–it is a place where you live more.” Green Fairway Estates was not realized to completion after the unexpected passing of the father/son founders of the Alexander Construction Company in 1965, though 35 homes partially fulfilled the vision of George and Robert Alexander. Today, they are sometimes referred to as, “The Last of the Alexanders.”
