Calypso Palms: The Rat Pack Returns
$65 (1 hr), 8 homes on this tour
Come fly with us back to the early 1960s when Calypso Palms (originally known as Andee Palms) was built and served as executive suites for Hotel Trinidad, hosting A-list entertainers when they socialized and performed at the historic and ever popular Purple Room. Frequent guests included Frank Sinatra and his Rat Pack friends as they cavorted off stage behind the doors of Calypso Palms. Rumor has it that on one occasion when Frank was visiting, he was frustrated by the small size of the TV in his unit and tossed it into the pool. A larger replacement TV arrived the following day.
Calypso Palms consists of twelve midcentury condominiums surrounding the recently renovated community pool which offers spectacular views of the San Jacinto mountains. Our one and two bedroom units, most with private patios, have architecturally significant design elements including decorative shadow block walls, clerestory windows and angled roof lines.
Guests will view eight (8) units on this tour, one of which was featured in the February 2022 issue of Palm Springs Life magazine. Calypso Palms has only been on tour twice previously, don't miss the opportunity to view this hidden treasure behind the orange doors where the Rat Pack stayed and played.
