What is it about Los Angeles and Palm Springs that produced the architectural movement that we know today as California Modernism? Architect Leo Marmol, FAIA, Managing Partner of the acclaimed design-build firm Marmol Radziner, will trace the history of modern architecture in Southern California, looking for clues as to why the region became the mecca of midcentury design.

Founded in 1989, Marmol Radziner is a unique design-build practice led by architects. Since its inception, the firm has developed a reputation for innovative design and precision in applying construction standards.   As Managing Partner of Marmol Radziner since the firm was founded, Leo oversees and supports the overall process of every project from inception to completion. Leo lectures widely on the topics of architecture and historic restoration. Leo serves on the Boards of Trustees of the Palm Springs Art Museum and the UCLA Lab School.

This event is for ages 12 and older.
The entrance to the Annenberg Theater is located behind the Annenberg Theater Box Office, adjacent to the Palm Springs Art Museum's North Parking Lot.
Ample free public parking is available in the multi-level public garage across from the Palm Springs Art Museum.
Handicap parking is available. This event is wheelchair accessible.
