The Stonehedge Residence - PS ModCom Iconic Home Tour
Purchased in 2018 by interior designer Sean Gaston and his lifetime partner, contractor Jim Jewell, this architecturally significant custom residence was originally designed for a wealthy Chicago businessman, who used the property less than two weeks per year. Hence the pristine condition that it remains in today. The strong architectural lines draw you through this home with soaring ceilings throughout. Expansive walls of glass blur the distinction between indoor and outdoor living and uniquely capture the dramatic mountain and garden vistas from all rooms. Rarely open to the public this is your opportunity to see a 70’s treasure. Sean’s passion for travel, design and fashion is clearly expressed in his choice of interior décor, which he describes as “curated and collected…not decorated.” He is known for his artful blend of vintage and modern furnishings with a handsomely chic, comfortable and sophisticated point of view.
The house was recently honored by the Palm Springs Modern Committee, presenting the owners with the 2021 Residential Preservation Award.
The Palm Springs Modern Committee (PS ModCom) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the appreciation and preservation of Desert Modern architecture and design.
