Tour participants will discover the largest collection of Lloyd Wright buildings in the world at the historical Institute of Mentalphysics property, also known as the Joshua Tree Retreat Center. The walking tour of the property will take participants from the Sanctuary down Silk Road, the campus’ main walking path, with stops at Water Terrace, Lotus Meditation, the Ridge Cottages, the Amphitheatre, and Caravansary, culminating at Friendship Hall. Highlights will include a tour of the most intact coffee shop style building in all of Southern California (Water Terrace, 1955) and prime examples of desert masonry and Lloyd Wright organic architecture (Caravansary, 1947).

Participants will also learn about the history of Mentalphysics and how its founder Edwin Dingle (1881-1972) came to create the City of Mentalphysics.

This event is for all ages.
Please park in the main guest parking and check-in at the Sanctuary.
Handicap parking is available. There are some exterior and/or interior steps.
This is a walking tour. Comfortable shoes and layered clothing are recommended.
