The internationally and critically acclaimed A CONVERSATION WITH EDITH HEAD stars Susan Claassen, LA Ovation Nominee, BroadwayWorld LA nominee, The San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Award nominee and Phoenix New Times Best Actress, as Edith Head “The Reel Diva" of Hollywood costume design. A CONVERSATION WITH EDITH HEAD by Paddy Calistro and Susan Claassen is a feast of delicious behind-the-scenes stories that provide an intimate portrait of Hollywood’s legendary costume designer. Presented as a full theater set production with furniture, furnishings, photographs, dress forms and costumes designed by Edith Head.

In her six decades of costume design, Edith Head worked on more than eleven hundred films; dressed the greatest stars of Hollywood; received 35 Academy Award® nominations, and won an unprecedented eight Oscars®. Long before “Project Runway” and celebrity stylists became as renowned as the Oscar-winning film stars they advise, the legendary costume designer Edith Head, known as “The Dress Doctor” was dressing (and undressing) Hollywood's most fashionable women from Grace Kelly to Elizabeth Taylor, and men from Bob Hope to Robert Redford.

Edith Head  also dispensed her timeless wisdom and “Fashion Prescriptions” to women across the country on radio and television. In this intimate evening, with host Stuart Moulton, you will hear Miss Head tell her own story, which is as fascinating as the history of the film industry itself.

Susan Claassen, at 5-foot-1, bears a striking resemblance to the legendary designer, and is so convincing that you just may believe you’re seeing the legend herself. Her portrayal is a tour de force and has wowed audiences coast to coast and internationally from London to Toronto! Joan Rivers after seeing a performance said, “Susan Claassen’s vivid portrayal is astonishing - a must see!”

Susan Claassen is an actress and managing artistic director of the Invisible Theater in Tucson and has toured as Edith Head throughout the U.S. and internationally.

Stuart Moulton is the Producing Artistic Director of Austin Cabaret Theater, also an actor, director, and choreographer.  He has toured frequently with Susan Claassen in his role as the show’s host, serves as a foil, periodically interrupting the actress with his or the audience’s questions to answer right on the spot.  Beware the cinephile who tries to stump the host or Edith Head herself!
