Twin Palms was the first Modernist neighborhood in the region, and it set the stage for those that followed.  Join this celebration of the neighborhood on the 10th anniversary of the Twin Palms Neighborhood Organization!

CELEBRATE TWIN PALMS’ ARCHITECT AND THE ARCHITECTURE!

Emmy-award winning filmmaker Jake Gorst, director of “William Krisel, Architect,” will discuss the innovations Krisel brought to Twin Palms and how his influence continues today.  (Jake’s film will screen at a separate session that afternoon.)

CELEBRATE THE NEIGHBORHOOD’S ORIGINAL DESIGN DETAILS!

Architectural historian Katie Horak will peel back layers of paint to reveal the story behind the lost color palette of the Ocotillo Lodge—the Krisel–designed complex that was the neighborhood’s first structure and the model for the color palette used in the 90 homes behind it which, along with the Lodge, comprise the neighborhood.

CELEBRATE WHAT MAKES TWIN PALMS UNIQUE AND QUIRKY!

Local author Eric Chiel will count down 10 little-known historical, architectural, and cultural discoveries about the neighborhood that never made it to history books.

CELEBRATE THE ORGANIZATION THAT CURATES THE NEIGHBORHOOD!

Session host and neighborhood organization Chair Carol Munro will reveal the major achievements of the organization and the impact they’ve had on the city.

CELEBRATE WITH THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS!

City Councilmember and former Mayor Lisa Middleton will deliver a proclamation formally declaring February 19, 2023,  to “Twin Palms Day” in Palm Springs

This celebration promises to be fun, informative, and surprising.  You’ll come away with an even greater appreciation of a unique neighborhood and its role in the community.
