Cody's Cody an Iconic Home Tour + Optional Twilight Tour with Cocktail Reception
Tour $40 (30 min), Tour & Reception $125 (5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.)
PS ModCom in conjunction with TTK Represents is offering a rare opportunity to visit William Cody’s personal residence designed in 1952. The home was a laboratory for Cody’s new ideas about architectural minimalism. His goal here was to get the house down to the least amount of structure. The ultra-minimalism would go on to express his vision for what is now called Desert Modernism in future projects. With his own home, Cody could attain his goal of structural minimalism. How thin could a post be, how delicate could the roof line be made? Discover what he achieved in this exquisite house.
But there’s more! The interior of the home has been curated by Peter Blake Gallery of Laguna Beach. Peter’s gallery is one of the foremost purveyors of minimalist and Finish Fetish art combined with an amazing selection of the greats of modern furniture. Such artists as Peter Alexander, Larry Bell, Phillip K Smith III, and James Turrrell are here commingled with furnishings by midcentury luminaries such as Tobia Scarpa, Vladimir Kagan, Gio Ponti, Joe Colombo and many others. It's a truly immersive experience that offers a rare opportunity to experience architecture, art, and design on a whole new level.
For the last tour of the day at 5 p.m., we invite you to join us for an exclusive wine and hors d’oeuvres twilight reception hosted by curator Peter Blake.
