Day of the Dead Art Experience: Mosaic Skulls

In celebration of the Day of the Dead traditions, guests will be part of an art-making experience with artist Mary Clark-Camargo. This class is designed to allow participants to design and put together a 6” x 8” Day of the Dead-themed mosaic skull wall hanging using glass and ceramic tiles and shapes. They will learn mosaic techniques as well as tap into their creativity in this fun and challenging class. They will begin with a 6x8 plastered skull face which will have ceramic teeth and glass fritt in the nose already in place.
There is no cutting of glass or tile in this class. There will be hands-on guidance as well as clearly written instructions including how to grout, which will be an option for them to do at home.

All art supplies are included in the class fee. This workshop takes place indoors.
Instructor: Artist Mary Clark-Camargo began composing mosaic art about 20 years ago. By 2005 she had appeared on several shows on HGTV, DIY Network and The Fine Living Channel demonstrating her mosaic techniques. She has shown her work at many art galleries and the Autry and Southwest Museums in Los Angeles. She became well-known for her large scale Day of the Dead Calaveras and her public art projects for the cities of Pasadena and Eagle Rock. She currently has a studio in Eagle Rock, Los Angeles where she teaches mosaic classes as well as continuing with her fine art, public art and commissions.
