To highlight this season’s exhibition, Variations to a Theme: William Haines at Sunnylands, registered participants will receive a special after-hours tour and lecture by Sunnylands’ Director of Heritage Anne Rowe. This private behind-the-scenes experience will provide a detailed look into the history and design of the Haines collection.
After their tour, participants will take inspiration from Haines’ Sunnylands designs by building a one-of-a-kind floral masterpiece. Led by the horticultural team at the Palm Springs Flower School, participants will use living flower specimens featured in Haines’ embroidery and upholstery to create a botanical rendering of the geometric furniture. The completed project will be a functional planter box that can be reused with new florals at home.
Open to any skill level. Gardening gloves, safety glasses, and hand pruners are recommended. After the workshop concludes, participants will take their creations home with them.
Fee: $89 per guest. All plants, supplies, and materials are provided. Space is limited. Registration required. No horticulture or art experience necessary. Ages 14 and above. Unregistered guests are not permitted. Registration opens December 22 at 9 am Pacific time. To register, click or tap here.
