A 1929 Spanish Revival Transformed Into A Modern Marvel: House Tour
$45 (30 min)
Capturing the vibrant spirit of Palm Springs, this contemporary home is a great expression of how to blend Spanish Revival architecture with the sophistication of Modern design elements. Showcased in Architectural Digest, it reflects the award-winning talents of Lucas Design. From bold wallpaper and tile choices to floating fireplaces and grounds that will astound and inspire your senses, this desert gem is not to be missed!
Originally built in 1929, the home was recently fully renovated by the brother and sister team out of Seattle, Lucas Design. This custom estate in Palm Springs' prestigious Old Las Palmas enclave presents a captivating ambiance that transcends eras. The residence is centered around a fabulous great room that seamlessly embraces a casual dining area with a wet bar and gated wine room. It is distinguished by a floating three-sided fireplace visible from the entry, great room, kitchen, and main hall. The home is 4,085 sq.f. and is situated on extensive grounds of approximately 0.65 acres, showcasing a large pool with spa, a private backyard with an outdoor living room featuring a bar, and a freestanding floating fireplace with endless mountain views.
Lucas Design re-imagined this home using bold colors and playful energy, working with the original hacienda style, which was redesigned for one purpose—to entertain. Over twenty individual tile designs, custom curved seating, and unexpected wallcoverings are featured. Taking their cues from the homeowners, they embraced the artistic spirit and carefree ethos of Palm Springs, exploring color, pattern, and the art of mismatching.
