St. Theresa School Modernism Projects
Free, unticketed (2 hrs)
View the extraordinary St. Theresa School Modernism Projects on display in the school's gymnasium. This year the sixth-grade class will exhibit scale models of key buildings and homes designed by William F. Cody, FAIA, renowned Palm Springs Modern architect and the architect of St. Theresa Catholic Church. Alongside the models see thoughtful paintings depicting William Cody's designs created by the seventh-grade class. Students will be on hand to share and discuss their projects.
Visitors will have an opportunity to view St. Theresa Church (exterior and grounds) and School, master planned by midcentury architect, William Cody.
St. Theresa School Modernism Projects are made possible by a partnership with Palm Springs Modern Committee's Education Committee which conducts in-class instruction and workshops. Catherine Cody, daughter of William F. Cody, has generously provided special instruction focused on the architect's important body of work, primarily in Palm Springs. To assist the students, PS ModCom donates educational tools on the topic of modernism including books, maps and a Palm Springs Modern Architecture mobile application.
