Old Las Palmas Home Tour: A Peek Behind the Hedges lll, Celebrating Our First 100 Years
$150 (2 hrs)
Once a thriving citrus grove, Old Las Palmas was acquired and subdivided by Prescott Stevens in the mid-1920s, with early development led by New York builder Alvah Hicks and his son Harold. The neighborhood’s distinctive curvilinear streets were inspired by famed landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted.
Today, Old Las Palmas is home to approximately 290 residences, as well as several apartment and condo complexes, churches, a synagogue, the O'Donnell Golf Course, and the Palm Springs Art Museum. Known for its legacy of Hollywood glamour, Old Las Palmas boasts the largest collection of celebrity homes in Palm Springs. Stars such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Goldie Hawn, Kurt Russell, Dinah Shore, Lucille Ball, Elizabeth Taylor, Liberace, and Gene Autry have all called this neighborhood home.
As one of Palm Springs' most prestigious areas, Old Las Palmas continues to captivate with its blend of historic estates and tastefully modernized homes. This tour offers a glimpse into a neighborhood that remains an enduring symbol of the city’s rich history and timeless allure.
