From Forgotten to Fabulous: The Rejuvenation of Little Beverly Hills
$90 (1 hr)
Step back in time as you visit Little Beverly Hills, a pocket midcentury neighborhood in South Palm Springs and the second completed development by the Alexander Construction Company between 1957 and 1958. For the 20 year anniversary of Modernism Week, we have curated a home tour of 6 midcentury homes designed by star-chitect William Krisel, AIA. Marketed as Enchanted Village by the Alexander Construction Company, the development features homes with similar floor plans but varying rooflines and orientations to create unique properties of harmonious proportion and design. You will have the opportunity to see how residents have lovingly revitalized and restored these classic midcentury homes with timeless Palm Springs style emphasizing the elegant flow of indoor and outdoor living spaces perfect for entertaining. You can almost hear the ice clinking in cocktail shakers as you enter.
5 of the 6 homes are participating in Modernism Week for the first time including one designed by Steve Chase, a protégé of Arthur Elrod and a second home that served as the furnished model for the development. We welcome back fan favorite, The Shag House, also included on this tour.
