CoCo Cabana: Designed for Gracious Living
$65 (1 hr) 8 homes on this tour
Please join us for our inaugural Modernism Week home tour and get a glimpse into quintessential midcentury desert resort living. Built in 1955 as a garden apartment hotel, CoCo Cabana is comprised of 31 units situated on five manicured acres located in the majestic Araby Cove neighborhood. Designed with gracious living in mind by Coachella Valley architect Charles W. Doty, the CoCo will be celebrating its 70th anniversary.
Meander through our lush grounds and tour 8 former 1, 2, and 3 bedroom hotel apartments, including original units built in 1955 and ‘tennis units’ added during the CoCo's expansion in 1972. Most homes have been upgraded to reflect the individual owner’s interpretation of the desert leisure lifestyle. CoCo Cabana was converted to condominiums in the late 1970s and is one the best remaining intact examples of low-density garden apartment-style architecture in Palm Springs.
Guests are welcome to stroll around the open green space or mingle at our iconic pool where complimentary beverages will be available. All visitors will receive a keepsake retro keychain and brochure to commemorate CoCo Cabana’s 70th anniversary.
