Calypso Palms: Where the Rat Pack Stayed and Played
$65 (1 hr) 8 units on this tour
Come fly with us back to the early 1960s during the Modernism Week Home Tour of Calypso Palms. This tour will showcase 8 unique units, including five popular ones from 2024 and three newly refurbished and updated gems. Originally known as Andee Palms, this iconic location served as executive suites for Hotel Trinidad, hosting A-list entertainers who socialized and performed at the historic Purple Room. Among its frequent guests were Frank Sinatra and his Rat Pack friends, who often cavorted off-stage behind the doors of Calypso Palms.
Legend has it that during one of Frank's visits, frustrated by the small size of the TV in his unit, he tossed it into the pool, and a larger replacement arrived the next day.
Calypso Palms consists of twelve midcentury condominiums surrounding a recently renovated community pool, offering spectacular views of the San Jacinto Mountains. Our one-and two-bedroom units, most with private patios, feature architecturally significant design elements such as decorative shadow block walls, clerestory windows, and angled rooflines.
Guests on this tour will have the chance to view eight units. Don’t miss this opportunity to explore the hidden treasure behind the orange doors where the Rat Pack stayed and played.
