Originally known as Canyon Country Club, the Indian Canyons neighborhood is rich in history and architectural diversity. Take a journey back in time to explore six amazing homes–most of which have never been on tour. The tour includes two recently rediscovered gems designed by Hugh Kaptur in 1962: one the home of legendary commercial artist Harper Goff and the second a completely original time machine that served as a model home for the Canyon Country Club Estates housing development. The third home, designed by Raymond Levanas in 1963, is situated inside the Canyon Country Club Colony and exhibits the architect’s unique blend of Hollywood Regency and New Orleans-inspired architectural elements. The fourth home offers a glimpse of how William Krisel expanded and adapted his seminal designs at Kings Point into even more luxurious single-family homes on the fairways in 1968. Architectural designer Hal Lacy's Jaffe Residence (1972) incorporates ideas of New Formalism in its showstopping curb appeal, while the Wheatley Residence (1974) delivers the neighborhood's most emphatic articulation of the Hollywood Regency style, which Lacy designed in partnership with friend and collaborator James McNaughton. This is a self-guided tour but tourgoers will receive an eight-page color collectible handout.
